Master bath remodel
The original master bath
The first thing to go was the old master bathroom shower. It had a drop ceiling that was only about 2 inches taller than I am.
Added bracing to strengthen the floor and hopefully avoid any squeaks.
New sub-floor and Hardie backer installed
The exhaust pipe for the furnace and hot water heater had to be moved back 6 inches to accommodate the larger shower. Then we removed the back wall of the shower and extended it into the hall closet to create a 48″x48″ shower.
New plumbing and pipes sweat in and new sheet rock on the wall.
New sheet rock ceiling to fix the old saggy one.
Opening the old 26″ wide entry door to a 30″ wide.
Rough mock of the Hardie backer in the shower.
Pre-slope poured, liner installed, and drain set.
Final slope poured, ready for tile!
